We start our ascent of Gondogoro La before dawn, very early morning to reduce the risk of rockfalls on the way down the Hushe side. After grabbing some snacks in the dining tent, we gear up with crampons and harnesses and head out onto the West Vigne Glacier. It's a challenging day, but the incredible views from the top of Gondogoro La Pass make it all worthwhile. We can see all four 8,000-meter peaks in one direction and the beautiful Laila Peak in the other. Depending on snow conditions, we may need to rope up to cross the glacier. Fixed ropes are available in certain sections for safety. If conditions are good, we can make it to the top in about 4-5 hours.

Once we reach the top of Gondogoro la Pass, the view is breathtaking, with K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I, and Gasherbrum II all visible. The descent on the Hushe side can be tricky, with steep slopes and loose scree, but fixed ropes help us navigate safely. After reaching the green oasis of Khuspang, we can relax and reflect on the day's journey. A rescue team from Hush village at Ali camp has been helping travelers cross the Gondogoro la pass successfully for the past few years staying overnight at Khuspang 4,600 meters at Camp.
