Starting about forty miles east of Annapurna, this trek offers a pleasant contrast of scenery, with narrow gorges transforming into wide pastures, and lush green valleys giving way to glacial moraines. Along the way, trekkers encounter Hindu shrines that transition into chortens and stupas as they delve deeper into the trek.

The trek begins in terraced villages and gradually ascends to alpine meadows and pastures. The Around Mt. Manaslu Trek starts from Barpak village, which will connect us to Khorlabesi following the Budhi Gandaki River Valley through Jagat, and Phillim. Beyond Phillim, the trek enters the Tibetan Buddhist villages of the Manaslu Region, marked by increasing numbers of mani walls and chortens.

Sama Gaon is the largest settlement, which presents opportunities for side trips to Pung Gyen Gompa and Manaslu Base Camp.

Manaslu Circuit Trek

This past March I fulfilled a lifelong dream of trekking in Nepal and visiting with the hardy culture of the Tibetan people living in the high Himalayas.

As a solo traveller I was incredibly grateful to have such a wonderful experience with my cheerful guide, Subba (photographer extraordinaire), and my porter, “Master Sange” (big heart, steady feet). Our personalities blended well together and we found a natural rhythm and speed on our journey.

My trek was mainly on the Manaslu Circuit where we also took a remarkable side trip to Serong Gompa (3100m elevation), a Tibetan monastery accessible only by bridges and many, many stairs. This side trip was perhaps the ultimate highlight as I was able to join in on morning prayers, listen to the powerful sounds of the traditional Tibetan horns, and wander the property with the nuns and monks. The view at the monastery is breathtaking with jaw-dropping views of the Himalayas.

Manaslu Circuit Trek Great Experience

We had a very great experience with the agency, we did the Manaslu Circuit Trek, which was our first trek in Nepal. Raj greeted us in a very warm and welcoming way, and we did a short and very helpful briefing regarding the logistics of the trek.

Our guide, Aila Tamang, was very experienced and took very good care of us, allowing us to have the best time during the trek. He arranged everything regarding the logistics of the meals and the hotels. He was also very nice and available to introduce us to the local culture and religion of the villages we visited during the trek.

If we ever come back to Nepal, we will definitely contact this agency again.

Great trekking with our guide Hari!!!Manaslu Circuit Trek.

This was our first ever trek with a guide, usually we do everything on our own and we were a bit worried about how it would work out. However we really wanted to trek in Manaslu region so we decided to give it a try... and Visit Himalaya Treks couldn't have done it any better :) We met Rajan in their office and discussed our plan in a relaxed atmosphere, he was not pushy at all and this is what convinced us. They organised the permits and the guide within one day. Concerning our guide Hari, we couldn't have found any better than him, not only a truly professional guide with great knowledge but also an excellent trip companion. We had many great talks and laughts together. We hope we will be back trekking in Nepal and if we need a guide, we go directly to Visit Himalaya Treks. We are happy with the service we got and grateful for the experience. Hari, Rajan, Himal, we wish you all the best! April – 2019.

Highly Recommended! Two week Manaslu Circuit Trek

We did the two-week Manaslu trek with Visit Himalya Treks in November 2018 and can't recommend them highly enough. We organised our trek at extremely short notice (less than 1 day) and Himal sorted everything within hours! Our guide (Hari) and porter (Nima) were incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and really knew the area (which came in handy after a 2ft snowfall setting off in complete darkness!). Hari always seemed to have contacts at every village and could always find the nicest tea house to stay in. Amazing experience, and will 100% book through them again. November 2018.

FAQs

We always try to be flexible to design the trip itinerary for our client’s needs. However, if you are not convinced as our suggested itinerary then off-course you are always welcome to customize or change the trip itinerary.

Holiday should never be about making it to the final point quickly. Along your trek, we can add days at your request with additional costs to cover guides, porters, accommodation, and food.

→ An average physical fitness should be maintained prior to booking a trek. Any sort of illness or recent medical problems should be mentioned while booking a trip. Most of our itineraries are prepared to give you maximum time to acclimatize and pace-setting on the treks would be done according to your convenience. If you are having regular medication then tell us before the trip started which would be better for us to give you the physical feedback.

Our main concern is your safety. We never compromised on your safety during the Trekking and all our guides are properly trained and well equipped to take care of our client's safety even in remote areas as well.

There would be always back support in case of an emergency situation like severe high-altitude sickness or accident (which is least expected), you will be sent to the nearest hospital, if possible, otherwise rescued by a helicopter and sent you to the hospital as soon as possible. Since you are entirely liable for all the expenses incurred for the use of such emergency services, please make sure that your travel insurance covers both- medical and emergency evacuation costs.

It is not a problem at all because in a mountain most of the tea houses/lodges serve vegetarian food as well and our guide will take care at the time of cooking and on a camping trek, our cook and staffs will care all about the food section.

Most of the lodges in the mountains are basic like a guest house or tea house style. In a few major settlements Lodges are upgraded, where are the possibilities we provide you with the best accommodation! Also, it depends upon the service packages.

Lately, most of the teahouses have electricity supply even with solar panels. So, charging your gadgets is not a problem at all. But charging your battery you should have to pay an additional fee (US$ 1 to 3 approx. per hour.), in order to get your gadgets to be charged.

Now a day’s most of the major village has a cell phone network connection. However, in a remote area where cell phone does not work, and even if there is not any other communication access then we send satellite phone along with our guide so you can easily be in touch with your family.

Yes, either you can store at the same hotel as you stayed or we can store your goods with us safely in our office free of cost.

The luggage must not exceed up to 20 kilograms. A trekking helper (porter) carries the baggage of fewer than 20 kilograms. This bag can be received at the end of each day’s trek and you should carry the rest of the weight as a day bag with all your money and valuables inside it.

This is a difficult thing to gauge. We have seen everything from USD 25 to USD 900 per person for guides and porters. Tipping is not required, but a small gesture of thanks to your guides and local porters. The level of the tip should reflect the level of satisfaction from and personal involvement with your guide. However, we recommend you to spend a minimum of 10% of your total trip cost for tipping the entire local staff.
