Pikey Peak Dudhkunda Lake Trek Ideas for the Pikey Peak Area, Consideration for ‘Off the Beaten Path’ type trek. Pikey Peak, at 4065m, features an outstanding panoramic view of most of the Nepal Himalayan Range from Dhaulagiri in the west to the Kanchenjunga massive in the east. Included are Mt. Everest, Makalu, Gauri Shankar, Ama Dablam, Lhotse Shar, Numbur, Khatang, Karyalung, and Annapurna, Nuptse, Shishapangma, Thamserku and Mera peak. This spectacular Himalayan Mountain View is easily accessible and does not involve the long time commitments and high altitude trekking required of many other treks. Sir Edmond Hillary is said to have proclaimed that the view is one of his favorites in Nepal. Sunsets and sunrise colors are fantastic. At the PP viewpoint the chorten, with many colorful strings of prayer flags, frame the mountains and add color and context to the scene and to photographs.  The view point is a short moderately steep 45min- 1hr day hike up from the Pikey Peak lodges.

The devotees believe that taking a dip into the icy cold lake will absolve them from all their sins and bless childless families with children.

The various routes to and from PP all go thru large forests of multi-colored blooming rhododendrons. These lovely trees, one species of which is the national flower of Nepal, Lali Guras, grow to be much taller than in many other countries. They can reach 15 meters high and can cover the hills sides. It is truly a beautiful sight to behold.
